Why Indian Customs Can Stop Your Telecom Product Without a TEC Certificate
If the equipment appears to fall under Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecom Equipment.
Customs can legally ask for proof of TEC compliance.
If you do not have it.
The shipment does not move forward.
There is no argument here.
Customs is not overstepping.
They are enforcing existing telecom rules at the border.
Some manufacturers try to explain that the product is for trials.
Or internal use.
Or limited deployment.
That logic rarely works.
Unless you fall under a clearly documented exemption.
And exemptions are narrow and tightly controlled.
Customs will still expect the certificate.
Here is another uncomfortable truth.
Customs officers do not need to fully understand your technology to stop it.
