What apps do you use for international calls (and why)?

I make a lot of international calls for work and have tried different options: WhatsApp, Telegram, Viber. They are all about the same price, but the quality varies greatly depending on the country. In Asia, for example, WhatsApp constantly drops the connection, while Viber remains stable. What apps do you use when traveling, and what is more important to you—stability or convenience?
