The Power of Repetition as a Rhetorical Device?

Not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but repetition really sticks. I was giving a short presentation in class and repeated the phrase “we deserve better” three times in a row. I wasn’t even thinking much about it, but afterwards, someone came up and said, “That line really hit.” It made me realize how powerful repetition can be when you want to emphasize an idea. But now I’m wondering — how do you avoid sounding annoying or too obvious when you repeat something on purpose? There’s got to be a balance, right?
