Colic in Babies: Causes and Soothing Tips
about 2 months ago by Stocks
Colic is a common condition in infants, characterized by excessive, unexplained crying for three or more hours a day, at least three days a week. It typically starts around two to three weeks of age and peaks around six weeks before gradually improving by three to four months. The exact cause of colic is unknown, but possible factors include digestive discomfort, gas, or sensitivity to stimulation. To soothe a colic baby, try gentle rocking, swaddling, white noise, or a warm bath. Feeding adjustments and burping techniques may also help. If symptoms persist, consulting a pediatrician is recommended.
